“Playing music is like a meditation for me. When I’m in the song, I lose myself in the music and all other thoughts and worries fade away. I’m completely transported to another place with my band mates. After a set ends it feels like I’ve just woken from a dream.”

Jeffrey Arevalo was born in Cincinnati, Ohio into a musical household with a very large CD collection. Surrounded by music in his youth he developed a keen ear for rock, blues, Americana, and jazz before picking up the guitar at age 8. A good student and a decent athlete, Arevalo tried his hand at many hobbies before picking up the washboard at age 14 to join his father and brother on stage. Upon moving to Sarasota, Florida in 1996 his family built a professional recording studio where he would learn to be a session musician, assistant engineer, and then studio manager. He studied traditional percussion and afro-cuban rhythms on the congas at age 15 before getting his first drumset. After a couple lessons Arevalo started performing live and began playing professionally many nights of the week with several different groups. In 2009, he received a performance scholarship to Berklee College of Music where he studied until graduating in 2013. While at Berklee, Arevalo taught himself bass and put a few national tours under his belt. He toured the world with Goose the band on percussion, drums, and guitar from 2020-2025. Arevalo also played upright bass with his band Orebolo and released a couple albums from 2019-2024. His band Tupelo Conjure is set to release their sophomore album in early 2025 and he is currently working on a solo album.
